9D. DWARF PLANET (KUIPER BELT) – MAKEMAKE

Makemake is smaller than Pluto and was discovered in 2005. We humans have no detailed pictures of it (this one is a drawing). We do know it’s really really cold there – about -250C.
Makemake is made up chiefly of methane, ethane and nitrogen gases.
Makemake takes about 310 years to go around the Sun. By comparison Pluto does it in a blistering 248.
Here’s a real picture of Makemake and its moon. Humans haven’t really gotten around to giving it a good name yet. For the time being its nickname is MK2.
